I checked out Scout Scopes over at MidwayUSA and narrowed it down to 2 scopes, Burris and Leupold. Which one do you guys think is the better scope? TIA

Gonna turn my Win 94 into a scout rifle, using XS lever scout mount. Is a Leupold 2X EER scope adiquit(sp?)? Is a 30/30 good enough for use as a scout rifle?

I shoot 180 cast bullets with 12gr SR4759 useing standard primers out of my new model blackhawk and 1894c. I got that load out of the RCBS cast bullet reloading manual. I get 1346fps out of an 18.5" barrel. BTW, max load is 13gr.

Thanks for the info, guys. It does have the rounded front sight hood AND Lyman 66MC receiver sight. I've been thinking of getting a Marbles slot blank to stick in the slot of the missing rear sight. BTW, the bore is in REALLY good condition. I've been told that I'm only the second owner of this 39A....

You'll have no argument from me, I've got a 1894c loaded with eleven .38's and a Glock 23 with a 13 rd. and a 15 rd. mags by my bed! It's either those or a .30 carbine with three 15 rounders and a Glock 21 with two 13 rounders. Either way, the jobs gonna get done!!! Oh, my ringing ears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for that bit of info, Ray. That's why I only got 100 rds. of 38 S&W brass ordered from Midway. Somebody else posted on Marlinowners/reloading that 38 Short Colt would be a better deal because it doesn't need trimming at all.
I'll see what happens when I start playing around with the brass.
