But I must say the scoped 30-30, 45-70, 35 Rem, and 25-35 have shot as well, just less reasonable range.

You have a point my 99s, 88 and BLR are all scoped and good with proper power considerations to 275 or more and shoot 3x groups of .75" or less - no different than a bolt. The comment really applies to the more "traditional" levers with round or flat nose bullets. Tubular mags you know.

Sobenk, what else is there? - Rick Jamison published some research showing that the most consitent pressure at bullet exit is generally the most accurate. This is not always the most consistent in velocity.

He used an Oehler 43 with a strain gauge to develop the data.

I had velocities that high in my 26" 30-30 with the 160 gr Leverevolution. I don't think that makes it a 300 yd rifle for game.

Took the Cowboy back to the range to chronograph and shoot at 100 yds. Again, off the bench with open sights. I have recorded the shot # with the velocity next to it. That sounds high to me but they made it in 284. I would check to see that it funtions with those 6/284 cartridges if you decide to get it.
