I knew him enough to shake hands with him, but I can’t say that we were close. Most folks don’t know about the tragedy that occurred forcing him out of the Border Patrol.
I felt so bad for him and I think it really humbled him.

I’ve pretty much settled on 6 gr of Unique for light loads with 240 gr machine cast bullets and 7.5 gr of Unique under the Keith bullet.

I question the wisdom of calling any weapon an “assault” type. Better to call them all self defense weapons. This is part of the bigger problem of letting the fear of what people might think control what we might say. I’m not sure I care what people like that think. We better, they vote. I absolute...

These days I’m leaning toward a .357 carbine over the .30-30 simply because I load .38 and.357 progressively and the power difference in full house .357 loads is not as much as you might think.

No issue with folks putting whatever they want on their levergun. But how do you put it in the saddle scabbard? This Skinner sight slides into and out of the scabbard easily without snagging and after I put a dab or thread locker on the adjustment screw’s it maintains zero.

There was apparently a great number of different cartridges which must have caused a logistical nightmare. Many actors used to train so they would look good on a horse. That’s because there used to be a lot of people who actually worked on a horse and knew the difference. Burt Lancaster showed how to use a Sharps in “Valdez is Coming” Tom Selleck did a great job in “Quigley Down Under.” But the actors di...

An interesting story with some unusual stars.
But it kills me that they didn’t teach the actors how to actually use a Sharps rifle!
