Is your barrel a replacement or a shortened factory barrel? I think most of the recent Marlin factory 1895s are 1:20 twist, some may even be 1:22 but I am not sure. I am afraid it is going to be tough to stabilize a 500-grain bullet at subsonic muzzle velocity with a twist less than 1:18 or even 1:1...

I will take a close look at the Wiha tools, as it looks like the Swiss watchmaker's screwdrivers are a little out of my class (in price and ability)! :wink: Will probably pick up the Kobalt set too just out of curiosity, since it is inexpensive but recommended....

Steve Earle the "Scope Guy" I have the highest regards for!

Steve Earle the "Entertainer" just about the lowest. I enjoyed his early music, but his anti-gun and anti-USA political stance insure that his music is never played in my home anymore.
