Same to ya. PM sent.

Check your individual homeowner's policy. Read it, don't take the agent's word. My policy limits my guns to $2500...I had to pay extra to get $5000 in coverage. But those limits are for theft, not fire. (in my policy, maybe not yours-check it.) If you do have a fire, yes, heat does go up-to a point....

FTX 325 gr .458 Ballistic Improvement Hoopla-Dead Deer Photo

(Subject title is tongue in check - don't bash me :D ) Well, I bought my 1886 Browning in .45-70 this summer and worked up a hunting load. I ended up using a Hornady 325 gr FTX bullet over 45.8 gr of IMR 4198. That gave me about 2050 fps. I sighted in the rifle by aiming at a 8-inch black bullseye a...

That's the way I still run my brandings. With good cowboys (read no team ropers that don't own cattle) it's easy on the cattle. Lot's more fun too. Why is this stuff apparently so popular? Developed for the Army and issued right up to today, it supposedly pushes the 130 gr. RN FMJ bullet at about 750 fps. I've always thought it was miserable stuff. I've seen reports of velocities as low as 630 fps. Now that 130 gr. FP FMJ, where do you get it?...

OK. I seated an FTX in an empty case. Starting with 2.087" brass, I ended up with a COL of 2.624. It took several tries to be sure, because the end of the brass ended up right at the bottom of the crimping cannelure, which allowed the bullet to slip. The cannelure is about 0.070 in width. So, i...
