My son lives in Alpena, Michigan. There is a small museum of shipwrecks from Lake Huron. They have all types of items recovered from several shipwrecks. They keep some of them displayed in ice cold water to preserve them. There is also a glass bottom ship tour that takes you to several old shipwrecks.

When I was a rookie, I remember talking to a veteran LAPD officer. He said most everyone wore a clamshell but when walking around the station, other cops would reach over and pop other cops holsters open. It made them guard their sidearms more!

I like the way my local gun shop does it. It's $30 but they waive it if you spend $30 on merchandise instead. Ammo or anything qualifies.

I'm not an expert on them but I know the older Vaqueros are built on the Blackhawk frames. I know it fits my hand a lot better than the Colt did. Maybe the grips are just fatter.

When I retired I bought a new 3rd gen .45 Colt SAA because I had always wanted one. Only thing is, it felt too small for may hands and ended up a safe queen. I didn't like my pinky under the grip and if I moved my hand up, the hammer dug into the web of my hand. Shooting it was not comfortable. So.....

Mine was really bad with rust and stains. I put it in the oven on the cleaning mode. Gets much hotter. When I was done all the crud and rust was on the bottom of the stove. It came out like it was brand new and all I had to do was season it.

If you're in Jackson you can always come visit Jackson Hole Gun Club. About 3 miles south of town. I live there and you're welcome to come shoot. Lots of fishing all around. Right now its between skiing and tourist season so its not crowded.

I don't mind dressing out animals, I just hate the smell sometimes. Some recommend the gloves to avoid coming in contact with CWD. Personally, this year I was glad I wasn't wearing gloves. It was minus 15 when I got my elk and those innards kept my hands warm!
