Why a marlin 308 or 338??

I've got a 1895 guide 45-70, and a Winny .357. No 30-30, but I do like them. Problem is that I can not convince myself to get one of the two marlins. Truth be told, the .357 is my most useful rifle. The 45-70 will do all or more then I need for the rest. As for the 30-30, if those two don't fit in m...

Not a lever, but I do need help. I was looking for a first 22 for my grandson. He wanted a bolt rifle. I keep looking at the old and new ones. Well yesterday, I found and bought a Marlin 81. Except for a ding on the forearm it looked great, but dirty. Well I cleaned her up and WOW!!! I sure wish tha...

Well I guess he dropped off the face of the world. Never met him, but shared a couple of e-mails with him. Paco, best to your family and yourself. You feel like a long lost uncle I never meet, but would love too.

I have not read or seen anything since his 45-70 double post. He has my prayers. Please pass these words to him.

Sure ain't a lever, but I always wanted one. I never had the funds to pay $1200.00 for a Fulton or Springfield. I only saw rewelds at the gunshow. My club that I joined now allows me to get a CMP M1. You folks are a wealth of knowledge. I live 160 miles from Camp Perry and will be going there as soo...

Parkerizing handguns

I got a old .45 Colt clone in a trade a few years ago. Its exterior is very rough and I don't want to put a lot of money in it, but still I would like to make it nicer. I have read on another site about parkerizing a auto loader. My question, does all the springs and innards need to be removed befor...

.357 with magnum pistol primers

I just got a Taraus 608 in .357 in a trade. I am thinking about getting into some pin shooting. The 8 shot 608 kind of evens the field with the autos that I will be shooting against. My question, in the Lazer-cast reloading book using 2400 (my powder of choice at this time) requires a magnum primer....

I have 3 other leverguns, this is the only one that does not have the half cock. If I had this one first, I do not beleive that this would be an issue. But it's not the first. OT: round a trigger on DA revolver

I just made a post on my Charter Arms Bulldog Pug. I am very impress with the gun. A couple of things needed to be change to make it user friendily. I had to round off some edges on the gun. (I wish my knife was as sharp) With that done, I am thinking of rounding the trigger for pocket carry. I am a...

OT: range report on Charter Bulldog

I got to take the Bulldog for a walk yesterday. I shot 90 rounds, 50 240 grain gunshow stuff, 20 rounds Silvertips and 20 rounds Golddots. All shooting was done at 20 yards with a standing one hand hold. I started out with the gunshow stuff. The first 5 went way to the right, after changing my grip ...

Though it is not not a front sight for a levergun a sight is a sight. While trying to get in line to shoot some fast movers (ducks) at a icey creek, I slipped on a ice covered rock. Yesterday I was shooting my 94 in .357, the load I was shooting was a 158 grain hp over 17 grains of Lil-Gun. I shot this load well over 500 x's.
