Starting to hear good reports on current Remlins?
On forums there are reports that the new Marlins are much better in quality. Anyone inspected this new crop of Marlins from the Remlin camp? I'm not buying anything but really want the Marlin rifle to prosper.

Re: The Bottom Line, 'Magnum = Marketing'
The magnum craze has dominated the gun world for decades. However blaming the marketers lets shooters off the hook too much. Desire drives the market as much as anything. We have guns with iron sights, red dot sights, scopes, headlights, lasers, and whatnot on the same rifle at the same time. Absolu...

Re: How about a discussion on the 444 Marlin?
One iteration of the 444 in a Marlin that I would have liked would be a standard early type carbine format. 20" barrel, full mag, carbine bands, no ramp, straight grip stock and squared lever. Me too! I never liked the steel cap and thicker forearm style though they were very practical. My for...

Re: How about a discussion on the 444 Marlin?
The BB Winchester 444 would be on a wish list if I was actively shopping. They seem rare enough. I can't remember seeing or hearing of one in Canada. Anyone seen one outside the USA. It is only an opinion but it seems Marlin took quite a gamble with the 444. It was in the days when everything was hi...

How about a discussion on the 444 Marlin?
A recent post prompted me to ask this question. How about a discussion on the 444 and its chamberings without dragging in other calibers or cartridges. I'm getting a bit cranky that every thread on the 444 is overwhelmed by discussions of other cartridges. Lets discuss hunting success, favorite bull...

Its always the same on my favorite forum. Someone asks about the 444 Marlin and then we wade through a long thread about the 45-70. Why is this so necessary to the 45-70 crowd. We will almost universally champion the 30-30 as a viable and capable big game rifle yet treat a 444 like it is a pipsqueak...

I have little knowledge but would prefer a high capacity double action, just seems to make sense. If you decide on a pistol caliber pick 357 magnum or 44 magnum imo. The vintage calibers are hard to supply. My 444, 32 Special, 32-20, and Hornet are a witness to this. I would pick a peep sight for sure.

Yep, big pig fer shur. I think the fellers are several feet behind the hog to make the hog look even bigger.
