There's a lot more folks on the radar these days than there ever was in the past. I look upon the government as just another but more sophisticated criminal gang that you have to be aware of, I just keep my head down and try not to look like the threat that I might just be... :wink:

I used to be friends with a couple of gun dealers who would let me take guns home to try out but sadly I have moved too far away now. A semi auto shotgun is not on my list at the moment but I am hoping to acquire more hunting ground in the near future so I will keep the gforce in mind..

That's why I have bought nine Russian shotguns over the years, they ain't pretty but they don't fall apart with rough use...not that I subject my guns to anything but tender loving care of course lol:

There is supposed to be a made in turkey new martini shotgun in 12 and 20 ga coming on the market sometime this year I am wary of some Turkish made guns but a Martini 20 gauge would get my attention... Yes what GunnyMack says has been my experience over 60 years of using .410s, having had .410s in every choke from cyl to ex.full I'll settle for Modified, although cartridge choice also has an effect on how well or poorly a .410 will perform.

I'm down to only one shotgun at the moment, a USSR made 16 gauge hammer gun together with a .410 adapter it covers everything I require from a shotgun, I just wish I had the same choice of ammunition as you have in the States.

It looks like this guy is still knocking them out, I think the trigger needs a bit of work, some of the antique Jazails I saw had old brown Bess locks sometimes secured to stock with nails but they were pretty beat up when they arrived at Westley Richards, Darryl I hope your brother checked the bore...

Bill, I once owned a Snider converted to 12 gauge, the Jazails I handled were pretty crude and quite a few were still loaded :o Westley Richards had a big antique department with most of the stock coming from India, it was a magical place to work when I was a young man.

Exciting history Bill, I have handled dozens of those Jezails plus a lot of the Martini rifles but not many Sniders, it's interesting reading about how and where they were used.
