Oh OK, I see. I've never tried that, loading a bullet backwards! What, you never loaded HBWC’s backwards for a .38 spl defense load? It’s all I use for my 2” revolvers. Even with today’s magic bullets I don’t think there’s a better load for snubbies. No, I hadn't tried any this stuff. All my reload...

Re: How many hunt with a Winchester 71
I hunted with a Browning 71 quite a bit for a couple years. Shot 6 or 7 deer (crop damage permits) and a black bear. Beautiful rifle that handled great but as OldWin said, it's a lot of iron to pack around when you're hunting small big game. I'm a walking hunter and it wasn't doing anything for me ...

And as far as battery life, I've had great life out of all mine. The Moultrie been there since mid March, last I checked I believe it showed 90% still, that's 8AA battery's. Most use 8, but the Browning is only one I've seen which holds 6 AA.

Doc, I had 2 Stealth Cams that I used for several years, one was good, one was not much. They where identical, cheap. Now I've run one the cheapest Moultries I could get at Walmart, aprox $50, and it's been great, really perfect. I had a really cheap Tasco a buddy gave me that seemed to be doing goo...

A 6" S&W 357 was always my pistol, mine a Mod 19. I kinda abandoned it when I started packing 4" 45acp, because it's so light and handy, but the S&W is my first love! Good shooting!

One of the new products I have started using for a special purpose, Gun Medic. Good looking setup YK. I'm a firm believer in Ballistol. To clean any barrel I've shot, swab it first with Hoppes #9 PS, brush it. Then do the same again with Ballistol. If I know I'll be shooting it again within months, I just dry it, I'm done. If it's gonna be a while, I'll go over it last with oi...

Looks like rabbit medicine to me! If you're looking to do any testing with any other bullets, I've recently tried some Speer 130gr H.C. with a minimum load of 3031. In my 20" 94, they're grouping at squirrel hunting accuracy at 30-40yds. Didn't chrono them, didn't matter.

I recently ordered a few back issues of Rifle Magazine. the perfect get-a-way place! We had one very similar in Tenn from 1970-about2000. On a hill, and we'd cut small pines, lay em long ways with small sections nailed in between for steps, put a little dirt & gravel in for steps.

Bearskinner, I'm certainly no authority on the old Win, but according to a special edition magazine I have, only the Mod 1876 was, and from a quick scan only, a good portion of those where a special order by Canadian Northwest Mounted Police in a Carbine model. There's no mention of it in the 1886. ...
