Re: 33 WCF original Loads
CoyoteNose, I didn't reread this thread just now, but followed it several days ago. But I'm assuming you hadn't found any definitive original reload data of the original Winchester loads. But I was just reading an article by Brad Dunbar from the Spring 2023 WACA Magazine "Late Season 33", ...

I'll say truth of one thing. I quit packing autos in these woods many moons ago, SS so much better for packing. But if I was young, starting over, this is the one and only auto id consider! Re: Fur under the hickories
My brother came up yesterday, he lives about 1.5 hour away. We loaded up on the Honda Mule, took him to a little patch of hickories I found couple years ago. They sit in a big slow sloping swag, surrounded by oak and other hardwoods that have regrown from past logging. I'd not hunted it before, ther...

Hey, finished product looks great to me! Actually for most deer hunting around here, that'd be hard to beat, brush & heavy cover deer rifle 2nd to none, a 12ga slug is awesome load. Can't hunt with 00Buck here, but lotta states down south permit it, and rightfully so!

#4, 5, or 6 is 95% of what every hunter around here has always used. #5 would be my choice to settle upon for one for all! However, I past idk, seems 20 years most companies have quit making 16ga in #5 shot, according to what's being sold anyways. Fiocchi is only company I've seen selling #5 shot in...

Own three original Winchester 1886 rifles in 33 WCF and reload for them with C-H dies in that caliber. Also have 3 or 4 boxes of W-W original ammunition. This is an outstanding thread, an 86 in 33wcf being to me the most desirable for my use, I'd sure like to try for a hunting rifle, but they're as rare as hens teeth and cost a fortune if possible, plus the next to no components to reload! If you don't have a place to shoot every day, you can still buy snap caps and practice aiming and firing every day. It keeps the shooter practiced during times they can't shoot. I was specifically working on follow through yesterday. I went out yesterday to zero my M94 Carbine. Hadn't shot it since last year, and my previous sight setting i wasn't satisfied with.
