Re: Favorite Rimfires?

Rimfire rifle and handgun have become my favorite as of late. Try to shoot every week. It would be hard for me to beat my Savage model 29 and 29B ,cheap no frills but they are deadly accurate. The 29B holds to this day my best offhand standing group . 20 yards offhand standing. The 1929 sitting with...

Browning Buck Mark FTF

Been having a good bit of FTF out of my Browning Buck Mark. Folks on Rimfire central lead me in right direction . Took it apart found the buffer was destroyed . #1 cause of FTF on these apparently. Ordered two new factory replacements but may make one out of high impact resin used in hydraulic hamme...

Re: Pre war to post war 94

So the pre-war tang had 20º angles on the sides, and the inlet in the stock had a matching 20º angle, like a dovetail. And post-war, the sides of the tang were 90º and had a matching inlet in the stock? Exactly , this was a major change to the receiver as it was easier to produce ,more durable , no...

Nice , I see the ledger states 2" longer stock with 1" more drop. Appears to have Lyman patent bead front sight .
1 pound heavier barrel .

I wonder what was done when returned to factory?
Almost wonder if barrel was shortened to reduce weight ?
May have been heavier than expected.

Re: 1886 TD mag hanger help

Sounds like someone tried to drive it straight out. They are radial dovetails. You pull tube part way out and use tube as a turning aid. To rotate out.

Round barrels are worst for wear to dovetail ,once damaged going oversize and or tig welding is about all you can do.
