Another vote for the 4 5/8" .45 Convertible. You won't be undergunned, (.45 Colt) and you can find ammo anywhere (ACP).

I've read of instances where some Commemorative models weren't well fitted at the factory and can use some improvement in timing, etc. I wouldn't let that deter me from acquiring one tho'. I'll be getting an aftermarket base pin ASAP, and eventually have a full tuneup done. All my other six-shooter...

Decades ago Commemoratives, and specials were really bargains. Often much less than a regular SAA from the same year. I remember back 30 years ago my buddy wanted a SAA and they were selling used around $1000 for nice examples that weren't that old. He found a Commemorative at a gun show we were at...

I snagged a WWI era small ring in 8mm that appears to have been sporterized in Europe somewhere. My gunsmith thinks it may be a "guild gun" built by an apprentice. Light weight and handles like a dream. Still need to let blood with it.

Been trying for years to come up with one. Would love either a Rem 14/141 or a 336 Texan. A SS would be cool too. Ruger #3? If you periodically check with Kittery Trading Post in Maine, you'll find a .35 in one form or another before long. Same with 38-55. It was extremely popular here, and I've ha...

Stopped by one of my locals today and was surprised to see a huge S&W revolver in .350 Legend. $1500. I don't follow the hand cannon market, but that was a new one on me. If anyone is looking for one I can give you a steer. No BS.

Sorry if my engaging in hyperbole led to confusion. I did not mean to infer that the new Blackhawks don't have "real" blueing, or that they have the same treatment as the Wrangler. Only that it doesn't "look like" real blueing to me. More like blacking. This is nothing new.

Been reading about the latest iteration of the Blackhawk making appearances. Lo and behold, I spy one today at a local. I really neeeed this one since it's a .357/9 convertible. The 6 1/2 bbl, trigger in the white, and blueing by Krylon have me at a standoff. Wondering if any one has given one a wor...
