If you have a smart phone you could do your dry fire practice with a Mantis X. It provides a lot of feedback on your shooting, maybe more than you're comfortable hearing.

A friend of mine told me that he and his friend, while traveling along the river when he was a teenager, saw a young bull moose on the riverbank. They went close to it and he shot it in the side with his .22 rifle "to scare it." Instead of being scared, the moose fell over dead so he and h...

Alcohol and Tylenol, also known as Acetaminophen, APAP, Paracetamol, and a few other names, do not mix in the liver. They both are partially broken down by a chemical produced in the liver called Alcohol Dehydrogenase. Alcohol also inhibits the function of the 2c19 enzyme. That one also breaks down...

This past June a pair of female geologists were working near the Pogo mine in the Delta Junction area. The Winchester 9422M is the way to go. The only weakness I know of with that model is the magazine tube. It isn't anchored positively to the mag tube housing so it can be lost when you're carrying it. I don't know if Rossi made their pump guns in 22 Magnum, but Taurus made them in 22 Magnum and 17 H...

It's interesting that we get offended when we hear the F Word and other cursing, but watching someone get shot by another human being is all right. I know, I go to watch the action too but this departure from our moral code is interesting. Bad words, no good. Graphic war violence, yay, good movie!

The lever has a small amount of side to side play and there is no screw on the lever. It's a light weight and accurate 22 but I don't think my daughter will like shooting it with the lever the way it is.

I have a nice condition BL-22 whose lever has an annoying habit of vibrating or moving when I fire a round. I've never fired a different make of rimfire lever action that's done this. Is this something that's common with these rifles? This one is about 40 years old.
