On my way back from Del Rio—powders

I picked up a can of Rd Dot in Uvalde (haven’t seen any in some time).

Then I picked up six cans of Unique in Hondo. They had 28 pounds out in the barn.

That’s over 5000 rounds for the common handgun rounds that I shoot. I’m good for a long time.

Don’t disregard smaller shops in your travels.

Re: I really dislike striker-fired handguns....

The problem is not that it was a Glock or a striker fired pistol.

Sounds like somebody is trying to build a lawsuit against Glock.

I’m no Glock fanboy because I’m much more comfortable with a good Colt SAA. BUT I often carry a Glock 48 in the summer because it works for my uses.

I anticipate that we will make a lot of meat with these guns.

That’s a great load for a SAA revolver and nowhere near what that Marlin will stand. But still goes right through a tough animal.

The gun Ruger never made.

Here is an early (3 digit serial number) Ruger Blackhawk chambered in .44 Magnum with a 4 5/8 inch barrel.

Whoever shortened the barrel was very good. But Ruger didn’t ever ship one of these with a short barrel.

On the wall of the old depot (now a museum) in Columbus New Mexico is a Winchester 94 in .25-35 that was allegedly carried by one of the bandits in Pancho Villa’s cross border raid.

So the cartridge was apparently widely distributed soon after its development.
