Re: When is the last time you fired your AR15?

Scott, I am still puzzling over an untouched rifle, previously zeroed, shooting high. Do you have a theory yet? It’s a 20 inch Colt AR15 Government Carbine. Standard A2 iron sights. No modifications whatsoever. Stored standing butt down in a safe. Maybe I see the sights differently than I used to?

Re: Impala with a .22 Hornet

I seem to recall that Nosler had a .22 Partition bullet and in their loading manual they had something about the use of the .22 Hornet on medium sized game.

The only .22 Hornet I own is an old TC Contender with a 10 inch octagon barrel.

I shoot leverguns weekly but you know that when you buy one of these black guns it makes sense that you would occasionally make sure to see that they shoot to the sights.

When is the last time you fired your AR15?

For me, it’s been a couple of years or more! So I took it out of the safe today and blew the dust out of it.(figuratively) It was loaded, well lubed and the sights were exactly as I left them. BUT I had to bring the front sight up a full revolution to get the zero right. Word to the wise….Might want...

Now that I cured the Ruger/Marlin .45 Colt, I’ve been lapping the machine marks out of the throat.

It’s a multi weekend project because I like to clean down to bare metal before using the next finer grit.

The Hogue stock is nice but it is so large that it defeats the purpose of a light handy rifle.

So, I am going to try to repair the stock with Acraglas and I ordered a factory replacement stock from Midway ($185) which is currently backordered.
