Outstanding deal!

I think those Rugers are some of the best shooters and so simple.

I have a lightweight MKII with a 1911 style grip frame. It is much more challenging to shoot because of the light weight.

That’s a great gun and I predict that it will shoot better than you can hold.

I can’t shoot the titanium guns very well but this does just fine. Pinned and recessed Magnaport Special from the old days.

Go with the six inch. Beautiful revolver and you should carry a beater or a Ruger on the tractor anyway.

I’m never without a sixgun on my hip.

But I rotate a bit. Yesterday I carried a 5 inch 27 which I think is one of the more useful guns ever made.

This is the answer. I started carrying a short .30-30 in the patrol car back in 1983. I have carried it so much that if I needed to immediately grab a rifle for an emergency, it would likely be this one.

If I remember correctly, our own much respected tubaman damaged the cylinder ratchets of one of the smaller-framed (flattop) ruger .357s with 180 gr. bullets and sanctioned load data. I’d be interested in hearing more about this. I used to shoot a 180 gr XTP loaded long over a big dollop of Lil Gun...

That’s right. All of the larger carriers are the same.

I don’t know if this will work but it is an interesting experiment.

The hole in the elevator doesn’t have to be completely concentric so I think I can pull this off.

My .44 Special 1873 won’t feed Keith loads and I think it’s because the elevator is opened up to accommodate.45 Colt cartridges. Too much slop lets the .44 Special hang up on the left side of the chamber. So I am working on a.32-20/.357 elevator to open it up but leave enough metal to guide the .44 ...

I’ve never been able to get comfortable with shooting gloves. But I know that Lynn Thompson shoots a .454 and won’t shoot it without them. They work, but I always seem to use a sixgun out of convenience when something appears that needs shooting.

No, I didn’t take photos while adjusting the timing. Sorry. But it was really simple to do. In my case the cylinder needed to move to the right ( from the shooter’s perspective). So I could see where the crane was contacting the frame and I removed very little metal from the contact point. Easy does...

Scott, my redhawk has the ftf feature, could you post a link to the firing pin source? I guess I will do the chambers myself, sizing them to my bullets. A little file work and I was able to correct the timing on my RedHawk. Took me three or four minutes.

Seems like a total waste of time and money to send it to Ruger.

Solved the poor ignition problem with a Bowen firing pin replacement.

I love spending time with a good.22 sixgun. I use a civil war style cap box to keep my ammo clean and handy.

I’m not sure how the pup got in there. I’m acclimating him to gunfire.

The Skeeter gun seems to favor 6 gr of Unique under a 240 gr RNFP. Fortunately the carbine shoots that load well.

The pup did well and got a good nap on the way home

They were shooting a number of different bullets and I don’t remember details other than the old Lyman Keith bullets sailed true.

Some of the bullets went in crazy directions a few hundred yards out and you could watch the bullet bases reflecting the sun as they flew.

Yes you were Jim! I had forgotten all about that. The most impressive thing to me was that video of those pistol bullets being fired across that big green field. Some went straight as an arrow and some went wild as they slowed down.

Interesting reading Jim. The only guns I push real hard these days are .357 Magnum and .327 Federal revolvers. They generally perform well when stepped on pretty hard.
