I’ll bet that would be a great load in a Winchester Winder Musket! They sure are………this one was made by Winchester using left over receivers from the military contract and was made in 1928. Skeeter Skelton story

I’m looking for an old Skeeter Dobie grant story.

I think it was titled Midnight Ride and Dobie had retrieved a stolen horse and had been wounded in the scrape.

As I recall he found a windmill and shot a deer with his revolver as he was laid up.

Anybody remember this one?

I really should shoot a .22 more.

Typically I shoot on Saturday mornings but I have limited time so I have concentrated on the bigger guns.

I think I would be better off slowing down and shooting 50 rounds through the.22 first for accuracy and then shoot 10-20 rounds through a bigger sixgun.

I’ve thought long and hard about this….yeah I know, I’m not that bright. I can narrow it down to one cartridge and one load. I could get by quite happily with the.45 Colt and the factory Remington 250 grain load. The box says that it clocks 750 fps but in my Colt it averages 830 in my 4 3/4 inch Colt.
