These seem to shoot very well though they are sized .452 and some of my throats are larger and some smaller.

I found that hollow based bullets shoot equally well in a number of.45 Colt revolvers with varying throats and bore sizes.

Leading with different powders?
I tried some TiteGroup powder this weekend and noted that I was getting significant leading compared to similar loads with Unique. The gun also got noticeably hotter than it did with similar loads of Unique. Has anyone else noticed a significant difference like this with similar loads (velocity wise)?

What I would like to know is how the SS allowed a flat roof with a direct viewing line to the podium to go unwatched. I shot a couple of those 5 round boxes through it. It works like it should.
Not a bad group for 25 yards. Up close I don’t think adjusting the sights would matter.

By 1973 Ruger seems to have worked out all the kinks.
I tried six different loads this morning and it shot quite well with each. However there were two that stood out.
Skeeter’s .44 Special load averaged 924 fps
Skeeter’s .44 Magnum load (255 gr Keith over 21 gr 2400) averaged 1443 FPS.

My research indicates that Remington made some guns for prison use that had short barrels and a modified choke. But I always thought they had a bead sight.

One “new” cartridge I wish I had been in on was the .480 Achilles.
That one fascinated me because it wasn’t a rip snorter but rather a balanced cartridge in a useful power range.
