Slides in and out of a saddle scabbard with no scraping. A very thoughtful design that has no contact with the barrel.

This one isn’t fancy. Just their basic package.

Plus adjusting headspace and endshake and a lanyard loop.

You aren’t the only one. President Trump knew that this would be politically costly. I trust that he had a very good reason to do this at this time.

Bowen Redhawk .45 Colt

My revolver has been in the shop for a little over a month now.

It’s finished and I got the invoice in Saturday’s mail.

Very reasonable.

I’ll pay it on Monday and see if I can’t get it in hand in the next week or two.

I was in Fredricksburg yesterday and stopped in to see the new Cimarron guns

They have a new 92 modeled off of John Wayne’s carbine.

This one is done right with a slimmed down forearm and buttstock.

Very lively in the hands though it has a 20 inch barrel.

This is by no means a maximum load though it is a bit more than factory.

It’s safe in a post war SAA or 1866/1873 carbines.

Though the truth is that I could easily be happy with the Remington factory 255 grain load.

Comes to the eye as naturally as can be. A very comfortable carbine.

John Linebaugh told me

That I only really needed one load for everything. He recommended 8 gr of 231 under any 250-260 grain cast bullet in a good ..45 Colt sixgun. It does equally well in a carbine.

My friend Jim Wilson got on a .38 Super kick a few years ago.

It shoots very flat but I found it to be too loud and I much prefer the .45 ACP in the same sized pistol.

We shot jackrabbits from the truck and it did the job.

Update on the Shootist Carbine

Andy was so helpful at the Holiday in replacing front sights on these guns. I wanted one that was slightly shorter and I wanted a gold bead. Andy replaced the sight at the picnic table and after a minor adjustment I was hammering an 8 inch disk at 50 yards offhand. I put it on steel yesterday at 100...

I am considering drilling a hole in my Ruger 96/22's bolt from the right side (visible when action closed) to the firing pin channel, the diameter of a WD-40 straw, because the gun is integrally suppressed, and get a tremendous amount of blowback into the action, so the firing pin seizes up every 5...

Re: Lite primer strike

I’ve not seen a broken firing pin in a Model 94. But it is possible for there to be problems with a dirty firing pin channel. I believe that the firing pins in these are a two piece type.

A complete disassembly of the bolt and locking block will show you the cause.
