Have removed the Barrel mounted sights from a 92 and a big bore 94. Never had a problem. never bothered with direction. Always used a Brass Drift. A good point to remember is that bullet type and placement are the imprtant things. Calber really doesnt matter. If you put a 190 grain hard cast (Buffalo Bore) from a 30-30 in the right place it will kill anything on the planet. A 500 grain from a 45-70 in the wrong pace won't kill anything. W.M.D....
