If one is really interested in the TC products one only needs to keep an eye out in both private transfers and in the shops. Buying in pieces is fairly easy and cheaper than new guns, particularly pistols. Lots of people get something big that they can't handle and they sell out, cheaply. Every comm...

I'm with HorseSoldier. Nothing slicks them up like use and good maintenance. Noting looks better than a used but well-cared for firearm. Character is the operating word. Sometimes I have to laugh at all the folks who take an old gun and try to make it look brand new and buy a new gun and try to make...

Savage 99 Ins-and-Outs
Ok, so I'm not tied too tight or whatever. Anyway, I just came into a Williams FP for the 99 which mounts in two holes on the receiver/tang top. Not being overly familiar with the variations of the 99 but knowing there are variations and have been variations in D&T for sights, I'm betting that t...

You either want us to write a book or make your decision for you, I'm not sure which. There's a lot to learn and you'll enjoy the ride. Look for and get some books on the subject and hang out here for a while. I think you should get a Marlin M39 Mountie, then the 1894C, then a 336, then an 1895 and ...

One is not better than the other, just different. However, if you get a Rossi 92 get it from Steve's Gunz. Steve slicks it up and sells it for less than you'd pay for a factory Marlin. The Marlins do slick up real well though, with use!

Missed the charges... I don't see why you won't need to do just a bit of tweaking on the Jamison brass if/when it returns to the market. I'll tell you if there are differences between the .348 and .50 AK/.50-90 brass and performance. With BP and Pyrodex I would not expect much if any differen...

I have two favorites but I'm using the more unusual for the moment. those are either 15 gr of L'ilGun under the Remington 180 gr. SJHP (intended for the .357 Maximum in a pistol i.e. the same velocities as from a .357 Mag in a rifle) OR 18 gr. of L'ilGun under the Hornady 158 gr. XTP- FP ( the XTP-H...

Re: Winchester 1995 Questions
I have been thinking about getting one of the new Jap 1895's in either 30-06 or I have even seen them in .270 (One of my favorite deer hunting calibers) Plus I have a ton of once fired .270 brass :D I think the 1895 would be perfect for deer hunting out here in the West, do you? My main questions a...

I'm using Lee dies. I'm not seeing a lot of working of the case head. However, it is larger than the .348 Winchester (don't ask me why). Thus it won't fit through the throat of the AutoPrime even though the .348 Win will. Well, it will now. I ground out the throat a bit with my Dremel tool so that t...

There is one fly in the ointment of using the .50 caliber cases. That is that the cases don't fix any shell holders for the Lee Auto-Prime and the cases won't fit in the throat of the Auto-Prime. My answer is to re-install the priming arm on my Rockchucker and prime on the press. I don't think I'll ...
