Re: For you who like a powerful Rifle and don't mind recoil.
Gosh I’d love that 8 bore pinfire. I’d also like the 10g single break above with the Turkey! My biggest thumper these days is a .450 Nitro 3 1/4”. Uses a lighter load specially for these rifles by Cogswell and Harrison - 440gr with 65gr cordite for 2000fps instead of the regular .450 load of 480gr b...

I made a scabbard.
My wife and I do leather workshops occasionally with a saddler. Last weekend we decided to do a project - in this case it was a backpack style saddle. So I used my 1895CB and built to suit under the saddlers guidance. Was initially going to do a 10 round ammo thing on the sling but then he suggested...

So I had this idea, and tried it on another forum (of rich “he-men” safari hunters who laugh in the face of danger, apparently). A thread where you can post a pic of one of your favourite rifles (or handguns), your main Bible, and your favourite knife, in the one photo. Well it was deemed offensive ...

Lowest sight elevator - always.
Why is it whenever I look at rifles for sale (92’s, 86’s, 76’s, cold lightnings) etc the rear elevator is always on its lowest possible notch. Do they always shoot high? Do we need to load them hotter, milder? My 1892 shoots really high with factory sights on the maxed out rear sight also. Why is th...

You notice the large price gap between 150K and 275K? That’s because half of the value of that gun is the story behind it and being owned by a somewhat unknown but prominent family. It also has the crate. I’ve seen plenty of like new case colored 1886’s, 1873’s, 1895’s and single action Colts (one ...

I’ll sneak this question in here - the Rossi’s that are in rifle configuration - is there much different about them or are they similar quality to the carbine style ones?
(The rifle style being without barrel bands etc)

Re: S&W unconventional rifling
That’s ECR (electrochemical rifling). Used by S&W on the majority of revolvers made between the late 90’s and approx 2018. The grooves were literally burned into the bore via an EDM (electrical discharge machining) process using an electrode in the shape of the grooves. A byproduct of that proc...

You could do a .45-70 based .338 wildcat on a 336, if you’re a fan of the bore diameter.
