For carry it's auto's. Colt lightweight commander 45 acp, or a old German M11 Sig P228 9mm.
I'm consistent with both therefore that's what I carry. There's always room for improvement.
The only reason I carry handguns is because my Winchester to big to carry on my hip!

That's true they shade the front site quite a bit. I don't think I've ever had one on any lever action rifle I owned!

My local gun shop takes in one or two a month. Mostly 50 years old +
Generally speaking they don't last very long!
Most are gone within 48 hrs.!
