Re: substituted dies for 50-110win

Yes I use both sets, for different loads, I bought the 50-70 dies first, then the 50 Alaskan, I use both 50-110 and 50 Alaskan brass from Starline, I use an Accurate dual cavity mold 51- 320c & 320e, one plain base, one gas check, also a 440g lee plain base. Since I'm always using the same rifle...

Re: substituted dies for 50-110win

I have a 50-110 built on a 71 Japchester, I use both the 50-70 RCBS and 50 alaskan Hrorday dies, I use both 50 alaskan and 50-110 starline brass, I haven’t had any problems by not full length sizing the 50-110 brass. Hope this helps.

Re: 40-82 WCF Pet loads Anyone?

I shoot a 1886 40-82, my two favorite loads are SR4759 23g with Lyman 403169 240g (sized .407 dia) and IMR4198 28g with same Lyman bullet. I have both a Winchester and Ideal mold for the 40-82, but the molds have some issues Winchester bullets are not round and too small, and the Ideal is too small ...

Wow! 457, that's two of the bullets I've been looking at, your making my life easy, I'm going with those and gas checks, thanks again for your help.

Re: Looking for 50-110 W.C.F. or 50 Alaskan Loads

457 thanks, that's what I'm looking for, I'm assuming all the cast bullets are wearing gas checks? My first loads with 41g of either 4759 or 4198 and Hunter Supply 420g were leaving more lead in the barrel than I liked, I plan to cast some Lee 50-70s this weekend using wheel weights. Also have some ...

Re: Looking for 50-110 W.C.F. or 50 Alaskan Loads

I may have misspoken on IMR4198, I was told that last year by one of my suppliers, and no one had any in stock at the time, it sort of makes sense, since the same company controls both H4198 and IMR4198.

Looking for 50-110 W.C.F. or 50 Alaskan Loads

I recently acquired a used Japchester mod 71 in 475 Turnbull, took the barrel off and send it to J.E.S. reboring and had him set it up for 50-110, which will enable me to shoot either round in it. I also acquired both 50 Alaskan and 50-110 Starline brass. My initial loads have been with SR4759 and I...

Re: 50 Alaska cartridge

I have a 475 Turnbull 71 Japchester, that I had rebored and chambered to 50-110, which I can also shoot 50 Alaskan in, kind of like a 22 long, in a 22 LR chamber. Since I usually just shoot paper I use only lead bullets and there is a good selection of those, I plan on getting a Lee mold for the 50-...
