Re: Interesting comparison between the .44 Magnum and .44-40
That's very useful expansion over 36 grains of Swiss FFg. The late Mike Venturino and others have mentioned the thinner case neck on the .44 WCF vs the .44 Magnum as being more delicate. I have not yet loaded enough of the former to have any issues with the brass, but have used mostly Starline. Yes...

Re: Interesting comparison between the .44 Magnum and .44-40
I think the difference would be more noticeable using expanding jacketed bullets. I agree the 44-40 is under appreciated, but implying it is just as good maybe counter productive. Why? 42798_purelead_rifle.jpg 20729518_780036848843567_8422578191859404609_n.jpg DSCF3014.JPG I'd opine that the thinne...

Thanks. I just edited the music to better fit the timeline/ending and allowed original sound as well.....a mix I guess it's called.
My plan is to keep the videos short, under 8 minutes, to keep out advertisements. I am not looking for long videos to make money.

Re: 44 Winchester "One Of One Thousand" Postal Match Targets
From the previously posted photos, I am using an older circular clickless dial mount. This 32 click mount works well for me but I can barely get to 300 yards with the 1,350fps loads. I actually stretched the plunger spring slightly to get enough retention. The newer square 25 click (clickless) mount...

Standard sscope base spacing is 7.2" for 1/4" clicks, or 10.5 for 1/8" click adjustments. Anything else will work, but you need to learn what your spacing does for your rifle and mounts. I've never owned a Hi Lux Malcolm so not sure if their scope mount adheres to what all other targ...

Added a few more targets to the collection today. I pulled in the 100 yard group on two targets. 19 shots on both targets grouped 3 1/2" at 100 yards...with the cold barrel high shot...seems consistent. No further scope adjustments needed there for the zero-in range dial decals noted for 25, 50...

Since I was holding a 3 3/4" elevation for the 100 yard targets, the new 100 yard zero shows the MOA marks are close although the distance between the scope mounts is not what it should be. This is for a 214gr lead bullet @ 1,350fps, measured ten feet in front of the muzzle. If I did my math co...
