Re: "The Battle for Narvik" -- WWII, Norway
I hadn't heard of this but will look for it. I spent some time touring Norway and some WW2 sites including the Sub pens in Trondheim. One of the best WW2 museums I've ever been in was close by as well. How the Norgies used fishing boats as sub tenders in and around the fjords was fascinating and a t...

Re: So covid affects minorities disproportionately......
I saw a Dr. on Youtube discuss his theories on this.
In his practice he has observed for many years a deficiency in vitamin D in both hispanic and african communities. To the tune of 50 and 80% respectively, and that is his hypothesis as to why those demographics seem to be adversely affected.

Re: Did you here the one about the 59 year old college student?
Well, you've got me beat, but only by 10 years. I started in the fall at the age of 48. I acquired some credits over the years through the USMC and so that helped some. So far I'm mildly disappointed in some aspects of it and pleased with others. I'm at a state college and it has multiple campuses. ...

Re: Cord cutting, the cable TV kind
2.5 years of no cable for us. I did the math at my last home and figured that after paying the cable company the 14 years we owned it, it added up to about $25,000. That number was sobering to me. I had exactly ZERO to show for it. I have a HDTV antenna on top of the hooch and have 40ish channels wi...

Re: 22 LR three cents per round...!
I keep reading peoples comments about Remington 22 problems, but in the last 4 years or so I've had no issues out of my Ruger, 22/45 and SR22 or the daughters Sig Mosquito. Maybe it's just luck, but that accounts for thousands of rounds. The Federal Automatch has given me more issues than anything e...

Vertical wall mount gunrack
Hey guys. Been thinking about building a wall mounted gun rack for a couple years. I want to build something like in the pics below. My plan involves using wood and hardware from an old family barn that was built in the 40s. I don't normally display guns for security reasons, but there are times whe...

Re: How many love to shoot but don't hunt?
I shoot but don't hunt. I used to hunt quite a bit growing up and even after I joined the USMC. I went for a period of about 8 years where I didn't even fire MY guns. That ended last year when I shot recreationally for the first time in years. I intend to do some limited hunting in the future and th...

None of this is to denigrate any modern warrior, I have the utmost respect for those that go in harms way, just an interesting topic with some baffling conditions and results. OK, no offense taken, but... just a question? Has anyone thats posted here been to either iraq or buttcrackistan? Just curi...

Winchester wrangler in 44Mag, and a Glenfield 30 in 30-30 that I cut down to 16.25 due to it being beat up to begin with.
Love the short barreled levers. Just need another couple in .357 and 45lc.

Re: Single Six
I don't think it's stainless. I've removed bluing from guns before and one was a vaquero. Looked identical and I had no rust issues either. I oiled it with CLP, and wiped it clean. Never had an issue. Once the bluing is removed you can polish it to a pretty high luster and that SS may have been poli...

That would be easy enough to verify I would think. The remains of the battlefield should tell that answer. Never been to the museum but would be interesting to go sometime.

Re: Browning BL-22, How are they?
I have one and have had it for close to 20 years. I love the little rifle. Accurate, light weight and will feed S,L,LR easily in any order. Mine has finished off many pest and that I remember has never failed to load or fire. The length of pull may be a little short for some tastes, but it's doable ...

Re: OT - AMT 380 Backup - anyone else have one?
Is the barrel fixed or does it move when the weapon cycles? If it moves then it may not be going completely into battery and therefore the firing pin isn't lined up with the bore axis the way it should be.
Is it off center consistently between rounds? It the strike high or left/right?

Alright on the coast. We had about 40 homes damaged and a bunch of businesses damaged as well. No fatalities but a couple in the hospital with "serious injuries".
Jacksonville NC is where I'm at.
