Re: For those of us who live in bear country
I just pack a .22 pistol for bear. One in my hunting partners kneecap and I'm all good! Just can't be the slowest one🤣. No one want to hunt with me anymore.... Seriously...I use either .44 or .357 with Buffalo Bore. I'd like to try 10mm but over the years, I saw lots of stovepipes in semi autos in h...

Not sure what to think. I like it better than a " Judge or " Public Defender...Seems kinda fun...There's a wood/metal version too. The REV-41 Tactical. Looks like it's out of Canada and shoots .45 LC also.

Nosler Partitions
When I first started elk hunting around 35 yrs ago I bought a Tikka 7mm mag but eventually went with a Tikka T3 30-06 due to a shoulder replacement. I don't reload so I went with a 180 grain Nosler Partition. It was always one shot and down. Several years ago I couldn't find any and bought Hornady 1...

When packing elk quarters, I usually take a 4" S&W .44 mag. I used to carry it in a cross draw holster. It was great until packing a quarter out which was about 90lbs. I was walking along on top of a slope. I was wondering if I could draw and aim while packing a heavy load. Well, as my rig...

I remember in '84 stationed in W. Germany, we were training in Wildflecken. Saw several old l bomb craters from WW2. We weren't supposed to dig foxholes but weather got crappy. Re: New model 1886 wichester 45-70 can you put a red dot or a scope on it
I put a Holosun 507C on my 45-70. It's held up great. It has a circle with a dot in the center. With Remington Corelokts zeroed at 100 yards, it hits dead on at 300 holding at the bottom of the large circle. It has a solar panel on top in case batteries run down but they're rated for 5 years!. It's ...

Re: Ruger/Marlin 10mm ?
. The market for leverguns is expanding. That's not 'exciting' to some of us older 'traditionalists', but it is a GOOD thing, in that the younger generation doesn't have the same reverence for walnut and blued steel that we do. They want easy/no maintenance, and are more interested in function and ...

I used the Buffalo Bore hardcast bullets for my 45-70, .44 mag and .357. They do penetrate! But the recoil is .....noticeable. I ended up using Core-Lokts for the 45-70. For my 30-30, I like Federal Premium 170 gr Nosler Partition. Using it now for elk. I'm sure the 30-30 190 BB are much more stout ...

I may be wrong on the manufacturer. The initial ad says American Arms Regulator but the details say Western Arms. I researched it and AWA didn't make a Regulator. They made a Peacekeeper and Longhorn. The American Arms .45 are stamped Uberti I believe. Oh well......
