Re: Sold One...Bought One
Another reason I sold it off was it was too dang pretty to be taking out in the woods and beat up. Having a Colt in a box tucked away in a safe wasn't for me. This Vaquero is slightly used and is a tank, Plus with the money I made off of it I'm also getting a Smith & Wesson shield for concealed ...

I'm not an expert on them but I know the older Vaqueros are built on the Blackhawk frames. I know it fits my hand a lot better than the Colt did. Maybe the grips are just fatter.

Sold One...Bought One
When I retired I bought a new 3rd gen .45 Colt SAA because I had always wanted one. Only thing is, it felt too small for may hands and ended up a safe queen. I didn't like my pinky under the grip and if I moved my hand up, the hammer dug into the web of my hand. Shooting it was not comfortable. So.....

Before retiring I was our department rangemaster and pretty much got to shoot whenever I wanted. I got kind of spoiled. After retiring I didn't shoot much but now that I moved to Wyoming and live on a gun range, I can shoot whenever I want. Somedays days I do long range shooting and others I just go...

Mine was really bad with rust and stains. I put it in the oven on the cleaning mode. Gets much hotter. When I was done all the crud and rust was on the bottom of the stove. It came out like it was brand new and all I had to do was season it.

I didn't even know which one of my Smith's had the lock. I checked and only have 1 that has the lock. I have no idea what ever happened to the key but I don't worry about it " locking up". I shot plenty of Magnum loads and never had a problem. To me it's kind of like the silly writing on m...

If you're in Jackson you can always come visit Jackson Hole Gun Club. About 3 miles south of town. I live there and you're welcome to come shoot. Lots of fishing all around. Right now its between skiing and tourist season so its not crowded.

I don't mind dressing out animals, I just hate the smell sometimes. Some recommend the gloves to avoid coming in contact with CWD. Personally, this year I was glad I wasn't wearing gloves. It was minus 15 when I got my elk and those innards kept my hands warm!
