Re: Long Range Shooting with a .357 Lever Gun?
Last weekend I was shooting my 20 inch 44 mag out to 250 yards and we were having a ball. Some were shooting AR's and doing all right. My brother and I grabbed our levers, (both 44 cal) and started knocking things over and then all of a sudden the other boys were putting down their AR's and wanting ...

I peiced together an AR last fall. I just got around to shootin it last weekend. I really did not want to like it. I guess I do. Of course my 18 year old son loves it. I suppose I will keep it, but they don't have charm of a lever.

I have an original Henry Golden Boy that I cleaned while watching Walker Texas Ranger on the TV last night. I may have a real collector item here. I'll be waiting for offers.
That is one cool Henry and I'd guess it will bring a bit more than my Golden Boy.

I will be 50 in July. I scored a 40.9 and will live to be 85. I have to throw in a big item they left out. Arthur Itus and joint issues. At 47 my left knee was replaced, and at 48 my right was replaced. Throw in a hip that is troubling me and I'm not sure I want to live to 85.

I sure like those 44's. I have a 3 inch Gary Reeder Redhawk and man that is sweet. I usually shoot 200 gr LRN at about 1200 FPS. That ain't too bad but you don't want to shoot it all day. If you really want to rock and roll put some hot 250's through it. I can just imagine what some of those 300 gra...

I have a Gary Reeder 3 inch 44 Ruger Redhawk, a 5 1/2 Redhawk, and a SS Marlin. I Love that combo. Now I'm on another 357 kick so I'm set with several 357 revolvers and a Marlin 1894C. Like every other 357 lever nut, I'm looking to get that SS 357 lever from Marlin.

If I was in a "war zone" I suppose I would have to agree with the USOA military and go AR style. But for my own use, or even the socalled bad times deal I don't believe I'd be hurt'n too bad with a 30-30. Since I don't own a 30-30 I suppose I'll stick with my trusty 357 lever and revolver.

My brother was shooting his Henry Big Boy in 44 Mag. All was going well and the next round was a BIG bang. I said that sounded pretty hot and he agreed. Then he tried to work the lever. No go. I use an old military gas mask bag. It slings over my shoulder and I shortened the strap a bit so it don't swing around too much. It is lined to be water proof and the opening rolls to shut. Pretty good set up. It holds enough for a hiking type bag but not for an over night deal.
