Re: New Winchester 94
I bought a NIB Buffalo Bill Rifle from my cousin who had it for 40+ years in his safe. He got it from his FIL who owned a Gambles store back in the 60's-early 70's and it never sold. I had tried to buy it for years, and/or get him to take it out shooting, but he said it would ruin the collector valu...

Get yourself a shotgun converted leather butt cover. I love reading Snooky's book, he would have made a great gun writer. Thing I notice about his loads is that they are usually on the hot side. I don't see a need to have a load so hot as to go through a moose and several tree's behind it, that is just too punishing on the shoulder and the energy is g...

I've never even tried to figger what reloading costs or if it saves money. I do it because I enjoy doing it, it's my hobby. That and the shooting. I probably have over 50 different boxes of test loads in over a dozen calibers in my cabinet, with matching targets made up for each load. No doubt I spe...

The 76 receiver is not long enough for the 45/70, so they simply shortened it to a bottle neck round. Bullets much heavier than 375 grains don't stabilize well and will keyhole. A 45/75 with a full case of FF Black Powder is nothing to sneeze at to be sure. It will kill anything on this continent ju...

I shoot 350 grain bullets in both my 50/95 and 45/75, Barnes in the .50 and Berry's in the .45. If it could take a griz in the 1800's, it can do it now. Bears aren't any tougher. I cast bullets for both and are the main bullets for both. Even the 45/60 like the 350 grainers.
