Re: Anyone into the model 1876?
I find myself wanting to add at least one of each model Winchester. Modern reproductions are fine for me as I intend to use them. Took my Uberti 1876 Centennial in 45-60 out for this evenings deer hunt. I think Uberti does a fine job with these rifles. I did have to work out some accuracy issues fo...

Mine is a Pre-safety model, had if for around 25 years. Had an action job done right away, and have never had a lick of trouble with it. It's a carbine, without the saddle ring, eastern carbine I think they are called? Maybe thats just in the 94's. My Rossi 92 carbine in 357 has the saddle ring, and...

Not to nit-pick, but feel I should clear it up, there were no 76's made by Chiappa, I'm sure your thinking of Chaparral. I believe that Hornady brass is a bit beefier that Starline, Winchester or Remington.

Most useful? I use my Uberti 73 in 44-40 the most. Most enjoyable would have to be my Uberti 76's, either 45/75 or 50/95.

I wouldn't call a 45/75 an inferior caliber, it does have it's limitations for sure. It's able and has taken every game species on this continent. Roosevelt certainly praised it. I love my Uberti 76 in 45/75. Finding one in an 86 would be awesome.

Good to see all this wonderful info on the 38-55. I just got a Crazy Horse 94, so I'm going to assume it needs the shorter brass? This CH rifle has a rather thin round barrel. I imagine when sighting in not to shoot more than 5 shot at a time, as the heating barrel will open up the group. Interestin...

Depending on how handy you are at making brass. 45/60 is easy as cutting down 45/70 brass. 45/75 is more difficult, reforming already hard to find 348 brass. Pick your lesser of 2 evils. I have a 45/75 and got a couple hundred brass from Jamison before they quit.
