Re: WIN 92 25/20
This is a very popular caliber & rifle combo in Cowboy Pistol Cartridge Silhouettes. Accurate, hard-hitting and mild recoil. I'd love to have one.

Re: I'm in the mood for a new lever action rifle. But ......
I would NEVER buy a lever gun with a tang safety. Howinell would I put a tang sight on it? At least on my new Rossi 92 my gunsmith was able to to remove the bolt top safety & make it look more like an original 92. This gun, my 1972 Winnie 94/22M and 1946 Marlin 39A all have Marble's tang sights....

Re: Hoppe's #9 vs plastic Marlin follower test
1894cfan, I'm not sure what the switch over date is but these plastic followers are one critical part that should never have been cheapened up. The factory will probably claim the colored part is a safety feature because it lets you see there is no rounds left in the magazine. I doubt it really wor...

Re: Round Nose Bullets?
Thanks, guys--appreciate the input. These bullets are really round nosed and I won't use them for anything hotter'n .38 Spl. midrange loads, so I think I'll give 'em a try.

Round Nose Bullets?
I've got a bunch of 158-gr cast round-nose bullets I'd like to shoot in my new Rossi 92 .357 Mag, but have some reservations about their safety in a tubular magazine. These would be mid-range loads, no more than 1500 FPS in a 24" barrel, probably more like 1100-1200. What do you think--safe or ...

Re: Reloading Die Question--Reloading Press
Lee has crimping dies and they worke fine and I highly recomend one. I use a 5 station press crimping as a seperate operation. I have a .454 but haven't loaded for it yet. I doubt you could get the .45 case up into the .454 die to crimp. The opposite is true thought, .45 dies will work for .454. OK...

Re: New Rossi 92 in 38/357; how to remove brazilian cosmolene?
I cleaned my new Rossi 92 a coupla weeks ago with Kroil. Worked lke a champ--put a couple of Kroil-soaked patches thru the bore, let it soak for 20-30 minutes then finished it off with 1 or 2 more wet patches then a dry one that came out clean. Sprayed a little Rem Oil on anoher patch & ran it t...

Re: OT: Day glow green valve caps ....
Since I retired I don't drive a lot, and had the sidewalls rot on a tire that still had lots of tread left a coupla years ago. the tire was about 8 years old. I assume oxygenation had something to do wth the problem, and maybe filling the tire with nitrogen would've helped, I dunno. I assume the gre...

Rossi 92 Guide Screws
A good friend who's a gunsmith just finished doing trigger job on my new Rossi 92 .357 Magnum. Excellent job--nice, crisp 2lb pull, which is exactly what I wanted. But he told me that the guide screws don't have many threads engaged; only 2 or 3 where there should be 6 or 8, if I understood him corr...

Re: 92 Rossi purchase advice
FWIW, Buds = $400 + $25 shipping + your local FFL transfer fee = at least $450 OTD. It's worth more than $15 to me, to have what I'm buying in my hands, and/or support a local FFL, whether storefront or not - or they may not be around when you REALLY need them. "If we don't hang together, we m...

Re: OT How to get rid of guns
I know two really good places to list guns free; this forum and rimfirecentral.com. Both forums get a LOT of viewers, and both specialize in certain types of guns but aren't limited to them. I've bought several items from the other site, no problem. The only reason I haven't bought anything off this...

Rossi 92 ejecting 1st round
Just got my new Rossi 92 .38/.357, haven't fired it yet. I tried running several dummy cartridges through the action, all being .38 spl cases with 125-gr truncated cone cast bullets. Almost every time, the rifle ejects the first round, then feeds all the others just fine. Anybody know what causes th...
