I'm back!!!!

I see things have changed alot..I've been gone awhile cause last year I bought 100 acres and this year I had a house built on it..man I've been busy..I haven't had much time to hunt or even shoot my guns much..All my reloading stuff is in boxes in my new shop 8) anyways I'm glad to be back!!

I'd try a good quality recoil pad first..you don't need a magnum sized pad for a .308..A good midsize will help alot and won't increase the LOP much since your removing the plastic butplate anyway..the increased muzzle blast would bother me more then the recoil.

BTW..I convexed the edge on this skinning axe. that makes the edge much more durable and will stay sharp much longer. I have a .444 BB wichester..I used to own a .45-70 but I traded it for a marlin outfitter in .444..I guess you can see the pattern..I simply love my .444's, I mainly load cheap magtech 240gr sp's and more spensive hornady 265grainers..theres nothing walking this contient that can live through a well...

The .44spl and the .44mag are both fine cartridges..I reload both for my pistols and rifles. I usually plink and target practice with the specials. and use the magnums for hunting and self defense..i do the same thing for my .357mag puma, .38spl for cans and mags for fur..I like my boom stick to go ...

I used your DVD to modify all three of my Rossi's..I don't have a bench grinder so I used a dremel tool with a sanding drum attachment for the grinding part..there very reliable and wicked smooth....

Anything mentioned above would work..But I would use hollow points something like a defensive round..that way you would cut down on over penetration..If I was to use my Rossi 454 I would use 45 colt ammo, any factory 454 load will over penetrate.. unless you trying to take out there getaway car..

I use either leupold or talley rings and bases..BTW talley has a one piece ring and base for marlin 336..I use them on my ruger 10-22 and remmy 700 and love them..as for the leupold s go there plenty strong and well made.. also if you go with the talley one piece..there lows are a little more like p...

I learned yesterday that the Sportsmans warehouse in lewisville and san antino will be closing as of Feburary 1st..guns are 10 percent off..most eve4rything else is 20-30 percent off...
