OS, without having acl 4.74, 5.5 and 7.5 handy to measure im just speculating. Colt probably had banks of machines set up for turning, 1 bank for short one for long. Each bank with the tapers set so all would appear the same. But I don't KNOW for certain.

I see and understand your point BUT I keep a Browning BPS 10 ga loaded with OO handy during bear season, and I don't have a barn to shoot rats in. :D My 410 has double triggers, I normally put 7 narfs in the right and 4s in the left but it's very rare to need the left while I'm shooting peas...

Its a 12 bore. 22 inches and no chokes but it works well on claybirds and peasants! There was only 1 trigger in the box, with cylinder & cylinder ya don't really NEED to select do ya? A barrel always starts from the chamber end. The barrels i have turned were machined, threaded, chambered, turned for diameter and finally cut to length and crowned. Jason, I have a 450 also, seems like every bullet, powder combo I've tried has been a stellar performer- like 1 hole groups are the norm. I often scratched my head wondering why Winchester didn't make it .358 to begin with. Much better selection of bullets for hunting/ defensive type. Sure 9mm bulle...

Just saw that, the thing I don't get with this 350 is how 'poorly' it shoots, more that 1&1/2+ inch average groups from ARs, bolt guns & now the BFR. I'm not all that interested in this cartridge but I wonder if folks have been able to improve it by hand loading?
