Re: I haven’t seen a box of .22 Hornet ammo on the shelves in years
I have one Hornet, two 218 Bee's and a 25-20. I've shot factory, hand loads, cast and jacketed in all of them. I wish all of the -20 gun owners would start hounding the likes of Marlin, Henry, Browning to start making 218,25-20, 32-20 guns again. That would lead to ammo/brass being made again for us...

Heaviest I've used is the 300gr XTP . My Ruger carbine just barely stabilized these with the slow twist. However it went clean through a rather large boar, leaving about a 3/4" hole on the far side. The pig walked maybe 15 yards and fell over. Also my carbine was intermittent about shucking an ...

I ordered something from Orvis on 12/17, shipped on the 19th. It then spent 3 days going from one location to another and back to the first twice a day for all 3 days! It finally showed up today!
11 days from NC to NJ. I could have driven there and back before it left NC!

Re: A Zoli 12 ga over .222 Rem -- Flattened Rifle Primers issue
We are all on the same page, it's just the nature of the beast. I'd say any normal load for 222 will be fine. Back in school I bought a box of parts. Internals, receiver, barrels and wood. Nothing was fit. I proceeded to put together a 12ga o/u that is affectionately known as The Redheaded Stepchild....

Re: A Zoli 12 ga over .222 Rem -- Flattened Rifle Primers issue
Are the fired cases LONG? Has head diameter increased? To me the issue is not pressure as the outside edge of the primers hasn't flowed. I doubt it's headspace, find a set of headspace gauges and check it. I would look closely at the firing pin , is it damaged? Take the gun apart and compare the fir...

Common sense ( we know our gubbermint doesn't) says if it's our military or LE they would have come out and let the public know. That didn't happen so I still say these are nefarious. As much as I hate to say this, dribble a little crazy glue along sside the blade, let it cure , don't spray the activator or it will turn white.
Soft solder would work too.

I've used nothing but Federal AR Match primers. 4227, Lilgun, 5744 have all worked great for my AR. I've only used jacketed.
Smaller charges of powder behind some cast bullets I could see being problematic since it uses small primers , smaller charges in a big case.
