We were setting trusses today, that went well except for up and down ladders all day! We went a little longer to get finished up but I had a 4pm at the vet for puppy shots. I rushed to get home, put the dogs outside, grab a crate and get it in the car. Put Sage on a leash, halfway to the car she dec...

I'm with you Nath, springs are a lot less prone to failure than seals in a gas piston.
The piston guns are nicer as they can stay compressed ( cocked ) for long periods of time without fear of spring set.

Yes Doc, the beeches here are getting it for the past couple years. Before the beeches it was the Ash and emerald ash bore- the ash is now almost extinct. I broke an RWS spring! I made a solid pellet mold, weighed about 20 gr in .177. I called RWS to get a replacement, they told me to send the gun back for a warranty replacement. I told them I would replace it myself. Boy what a mistake that was! Those springs are half again as long as the receiver , ...

Rifled tubes have been around quite a while. They are normally extended, I think the 12ga one I have is about 5 inches long. They don't give real rifle like accuracy but they do give you the ability to shoot sabot slugs. My Benelli would shoot fair at best with I/C and foster slugs and iron sites. W...

So I've been busy in the basement! Just for kicks after the last failure testing loads I stuck my bore scope down the throat of my slug gun. Well lookie there- lead fouling! Hours of scrubbing, tight fitting jag( 1/2" dowel and a 28ga wad) and I finally got the bore back to steel. So that got m...
