Bill I know Alamagordo, I interviewed at a shop there in town back in 93. I got the job but turned it down, low pay and I dont like HOT!
I was there over Easter break and it was in the high 90s, just too hot for my taste.

Yes it "flew" in ground effect. Sure the simulations say it could fly but it did not get out of ground effect so I did NOT technically fly! I am not disagreeing its was a technological feat. It was also ridiculously expensive and Hughs more or less went nuts because of it. In the governmen...

Not a distance thing it's an elevation thing. Wilber & Orville gained altitude. The Goose didnt get high enough for the wings to make enough lift to climb, it stayed in ground effect( the cushion of air under the wings) so technically not flight.

Go 458 or heck even 375 socom. Granted ya get more frontal & weight in 458 but the 375 might be a bit more pleasant to shoot.
I'd just buy the upper, might be able to give someone a spec sheet with what ya want.

I wasnt knocking plywood, it was a brilliant solution to the war effort.
As for the Spruce Goose yes it looks like an airplane BUT it never got out of ground effect so it didnt actually fly... still an accomplishment for the time.

I started with a Parker crossbow, axle holes in the cams were oblong in short order. It was slow, most deer hit in the spine from ducking the string. Upgraded to an Excalibur with 240 lbs of limbs to cock. A lot faster and no cams to wear out!

March Guns & Ammo has an article about the 350 legend.
Simply states the 350 is easy shooting, miserly uses powder, effective on deer from 13 -200 yds. The author likes it's mild recoil.

I've seen that before too. An owl is a smart critter- knowing the intestines don't have much in the way of nutrition they just unzip the victim and take the delectables. Old Peter cotton tail never knew what hit him. One of the great things about having snow on the ground , the evidence becomes clear.

Living in the NE humidor I much prefer the fall/ winter months. You can always put on more clothes to stay warm. During the summer when the humidity is at or near 90-95% is just miserable! Sweating is one thing but when you are wet from environmental reasons - yuck! I'll take the cold!
