Re: Buffalo Bore Tim on the 454 Casull

Good video Doc. Has me wishing I'd picked up a 454 carbine when they first came out. It also hit a sore spot; I sold my Bowen Nimrod with Fishpaw Dall ram grips because I couldn't shoot it well. Should have held onto it.

I like that 632! I'm either in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt or wranglers at 6ft and 180lbs. Haven't tucked anything in since the 80's. A hi power in an Andrew's McDaniel II is very comfortable with delrin grips... the spegal grips are too rough on my hide.

Re: 1886 winchester breach bolt interchangable?

Hi Eddie, The 86 breechbolt has the cutout for a cartridge guide spur on the right side (that semi-circular one). The Model 71 cartridge guide lacks the top spur so no cutout was needed. I've got both and other than that cutout they appear to be the same. Mr. Pickle's The Models of 1886 and 1892 on ...

1886 winchester breach bolt interchangable?

Hey Guys, I'm working on a project and found an 86 breach bolt milled for the 98A bolt peep sight. How interchangeable are the 86 breach bolts? I really like the bolt peep on my m71 and thought it would be handy on a 33wcf.

Thanks,
Terry

1876 win tang sight

Has anyone tried the 62B tang sight made for the 1873 on an 1876? I liked how the 62B folded flat on my 1873 src and would add it to my Crossfire Carbine if it worked.

Thanks,
Terry

I've grown to appreciate the model 71 pistol grip for handling the recoil; fingers don't get beat up. I do wish Winchester had stayed with the 1886 style PG though. Lesser cartridges I like a straight grip.

Talking with the gunsmith today, the dovetail edges were filed square. We talked it over and decided to silver solder the hanger onto the barrel. The bore is too good to discard the barrel.

Thanks guys!

1886 TD mag hanger help

Picked up this old 86 years ago and had it in the safe. It's getting refinished and it looks like the hanger dovetail was wallowed out enough that it hasn't enough metal left to ping. Any ideas? I don't want to restore it, just get it back into hunting shape. I haven't come across a replacement barr...
