Re: Realistic maximum distance for .30-.30 on deer?

I also believe it's shooter dependent. Some guys practice lots and lots with the same rifle others shoot a few rounds here and there from the bench and then head to the bush.

Puma92 44mag and skinner sights?

Hello Levergunners I've got a Puma 92 in 44mag that constantly shoots high with full house loads, so I was gonna file the front sight down a bit. But then I got to thinking I don't really like these sights and noticed Skinner Sights is offering a barrel mounted peep now so thought that might be pret...

410 Shotshells in the 45/70?

http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=15899 I just read this on another forum. Looks to me like the guy was using 2 1/2" .410 shotshells in his guide gun, has anyone here tried this? I can't see it being a huge problem but I was just wondering about it. Does it have to be 2 1/2" ?...

I would have to say that I love them all from the antique '94's to the new off the shelf malin 1895Cowboy. Guns that don't go through the USA don't require safeties, believe it or not. Here in Canada the land of Strict Gun Control we regularly get Puma 92's and other guns with no safeties when they come directly from Brazil. Personally I can't wait to see how Mossberg prices these rifles if they're anyth...

Bolts by Remington, Winchester, Ruger etc. usually in 7mm, .300 long or short Mag, 30/06, or 308. I get some real funny looks walkin around with my Guide Gun. But most everything is shot 100yards or less usually a lot less.
