I've found rifles normally cost $20 to $50 to ship fully insured depending upon the weight and where it's going to. If the seller has to buy a box, figure that in as well.

Does it do the same thing from a dirty cool barrel? I was just wondering it was a dirty versus clean issue rather than hot versus cool. I've seen a number of rifles that string shots from a hot barrel, but don't remember seeing one string them from a cool barrel.

Oh come on now, for crying out loud. Worrying about a scope getting scratched by the rings is the height of silliness. My uncle cooked a bobcat and swore it was good. I wasn't around at the time,but would have tried it. Dogs are eaten many places in Asia. It wouldn't bother me try coyote.

They were issued Russo-Japanese and WWI, but you're right I've heard of people finding them in limited use in WWII. I still think of them as WWI or earlier. Most people that see it call it a cavalry sword, but this one actually is an infantry sword.

It's hand made for sure. It's has a few differences from a Rast Glasser, but it shares a lot of it's looks. It reminds me of some of the Vietnamese homemade handguns I've seen.

I don't think they've made the straight stocked 39A since the 80's. Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I wouldn't buy it either, but that's probably not a bad price if it's truly NIB based on what I see used ones bringing.

I had one in 257 Roberts. Not a caliber I'd have normally picked, but I ran across a used on at a great price. Excellent quality but I let a friend who was more into the caliber talk me out of it. He said it was one of the most accurate lever guns he'd ever shot.

I've refinished a few gunstocks, but trying to match the factory Browning finish is beyond my skill level. As flatnose mentioned, I used to know a good auto body guy that would spray them. His results were fantastic.

The average deer hunter would probably never realize the damage, but for someone shooting benchrest or serious about accuracy, the barrels can become damaged very easily with cleaning rods. I agree with O.S.O.K. It really depends on the cartridge and how they've been loaded. I just keep an eye on them and toss the whole batch out once they start showing signs like cracks in the necks or other issues.

They're not very accurate for sure. A rifled slug (not rifled slug barrel) should in general be far more accurate than a round ball from smooth bore musket. If you're talking about a flintlock musket, you've got the pan flash and possibly delayed ignition to deal with as well.
