Going to ditch the QDs for now. I found a supplier that sells the Warne standard Weaver style so I think I'll go this route. I'll scope the Handi Hornet and maybe wait on the Handi 30 WCF. Thanks everyone.

The more I look into this the more I think I'm chasing false economy. The weaver base and Warne quick detach might just be worth the money after all. The Warne QDs on my CZ527 are very nice for ease of use, sturdy, and appear scope finish safe. If I wasn't so cheap it would be a no brainer!

Well I gave my head a shake. I'm going with Winchester brass or ammo for cases. 30-30 and 32 Special should be in Winnie brass maybe! If it isn't junk I'm going to standardize. It is half price and most reports are quite satisfactory. I'll report on quality once I pull the trigger.

Well life altered my plan. I saw a newer Handi 30-30 on a classified forum listing. Pick the rifle up tomorrow. It comes as issued with a mount base and box of ammo. It is wood/blue/sights and the pictures are excellent. This will go with my Handi Hornet.

I,ve decided to move forward with a Weaver OT-10 extended base and a hammer spur. My vision just sucks without optics. Here is a pic received over on the rimfire forum with a 4x28 Leupold RF scope. The 2.5X is almost identical from bell to turret.

Your break barrel air rifle might eat that scope up over time. Air guns and semi auto 22's recoil FORWARD. Rifle scopes are designed for backwards recoil.
