So last Saturday it was 48 degrees. Today it's 90.
Guess what one I prefer at work? Luckily, it's cooling back down Monday. This is about the only hot weather we've had, so I ain't complaining. Hate the heat.
They aren't a full size truck so I doubt they are rated half ton. It's just basically a Jeep JL Wrangler that is stretched. I think it's rated to tow around 8500 pounds. I can't remember what the payload is. I will have to check.
Thanks 45. I actually don't care to have too much moose activity in my deer hunting area. Moose make deer nervous and they avoid them. I have had moose push deer past me up around our old camp. That place was overrun with moose, but very few deer. Speaking of the old camp, the wife and I took the Gl...
Yeah, there is always a price to pay. Well, with a Jeep there are usually several prices!
Best of luck in your search sir. Let us know what you end up getting.
It's all planned. and we are not paranoid because they really are out to get us Amen brother. Been screaming it for 30 years. People looked at me like I was nuts. Now that it's too late, they start to see it. Good ole Grizz has always seen it. :D I get that look too. LOL Steady on the helm > Haha y...
No experience with one, just that the "bed" seems awful small. A lot of trappers really like the Toyota pickups, smaller, better milage, decent size bed and tremendous longevity....and they go anywhere plus a 4x4 pickup can. Expensive too.... :? If I could get one of the Toyota trucks that they sel...
Checked my trail I to my hang on stand. Only 2 trees down I have to chainsaw. Still have to check the rest of them but it looks good as far as blow downs. Lots of deer and a moose using my trail. Good news.
I've seen a couple 336's in 44 but never owned one. I've heard they can be balky feeders but I can't confirm that. I have a 94 Winchester in 44. I'd heard the same about those, but mine feeds like greased snot, so who knows. Like mentioned above, if I saw a deal on one I'd buy it. Give it a try, and...
I actually got a couple rides in with the Harley yesterday. One in the afternoon and another with Kristy after supper. Been cool here. It was 48 degrees Saturday. Warmed up some yesterday at least. Headed to the lot with the old man this morning. Do a little snooping around and make sure all is kosh...

Amen brother.

Good ole Grizz has always seen it.
I don't have any experience with them, but you will be giving up substantial off road capability compared to your Jeep. I recently bought a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. I had a Dodge 1500 with a 5.7 Hemi. I gave up some bed space, and believe it or not, fuel mileage. However, gaining a solid axle front e...
My navigation skills consist of finding my way around the thick woods up here. Big water freaks me out. My son can navigate on land and sea, but when he comes home from Alaska to hunt with us, he says being away for almost 15 years makes thick woods give him the Willie's. I have always been fascinat...
Being a lifelong rider, I am familiar with them, but have never visited. I would LOVE to see that place. I have watched tons of their videos. Love the rare old and race bikes.
Matt seems like a genuinely nice guy. You certainly can't fake the love and enthusiasm he has for the old bikes.
Sounds like middle son's fiancé might have her eyes on your trailer... Having Covid has curtailed my intention of winter wood cutting so apart from washing my car my only chore is zapping spammers that other "mods" have left active after only disapproving their spam posts, I don't mind I'm re...
Haven't touched it in a week! I gotta get these fences done. I finished the one out back yesterday. This morning it's back to the little picket on the other side. I'm hoping I can finish it between today and tomorrow. I finished mowing HALF my lawn at 9pm last night, because I had to stop to wire th...
You'd have a good laugh auditing this place 45. I can't even explain what a cluster this place is. I have worked there over 34 years and if it wasn't part of one of the biggest companies in the world, it wouldn't survive till lunch. Of course, the company itself has become a laughingstock. Everythin...
Well that was a useless weekend. That place is a joke. Pretty much dead in the water all weekend. I couldn't take any more and left at 1 this morning.
Hopefully get some stuff done this around the house this week.
Man! Don't you hate when that happens? I absolutely hate hitting something with the mower. I rubbed the edge of a cement pad with my dad's new John Deere 570 a couple weeks ago. Didn't screw the blade up luckily. Only thing worse is doing it with my restored JD 240. Especially since I lucked out and...
I will harry. I don't know where east, but it ain't here. Hasn't been hot at all. It's 60 now. We had a day that was 49 a week or so ago. Although, I'm sure it will warm up. Yup......30 below is cold. It's funny though, a lot of below zero days don't feel too bad, but you put just a 5mph breeze on i...
Hey buddy! Fried chicken? I can't remember the last time i had fried chicken..... Well, maybe some takeout from a local place. Local family started a drive-in back in the 60s for all the standard fare. It grew to a regular restaurant that is on rt.201 headed north out of town. It is very popular, an...
I'm shading a little left with my 4.75" 45 also. It is a new SAA, so it is still pretty stiff in regards to trigger. I have learned not to do anything in the way of mechanical compensation until it has been shot a good amount and the trigger is where I think it needs to be. For me at least, I seem m...
My old gunsmith buddy had a guy come in with a Smith 686 that had a definite curve to it. The guy was in a nasty divorce and his ex wife had her boyfriend set it across 2 2x4s and run over it with his Peterbuilt. Needless to say, there wasn't enough windage adjustment to compensate. Matter of fact,...

I agree Jerry. If I am woods carrying an SAA, I like it a little higher and tighter than a traditional SA rig. Keeps the gun out of the way of brush and under the protection of a garment if you choose. I also (possibly unwisely) like to forgo the security of retention to gain fast access to my Colt....
Yes sir. Just like the T-shirt says..... We're outnumbered, but not not outsmarted. That's a good win GK! I ain't much of a Remington guy, but the 141 is a nice rifle. An excellent quality piece. The one to have is the .35. With a nice little tang sight. The only gripe for me is, like all Remington ...
I have a couple of his holsters and they are really good quality and the design works. Yes, I was pleasantly surprised with my SAA holster. I have worn the old hogleg out and about all day without fatigue. It really spreads the weight out and makes the gun feel much lighter. Hopefully, it will be t...
When I bought my 4.75" SAA last year, I was looking for a "carry" type holster for it. I took a chance and ordered a Bob Mernickle. I hadn't any experience with this maker, but I had read good things. It's a semi-custom maker with an advertised 8 week lead. They delivered exactly what they said. It ...
We used to make a "sport" out of running the cops. Mostly on dirt bikes because it was real easy. When we transitioned to the street, we continued, and noticed it was a LOT more adrenaline. We used to change to another plate, or pull them, and head out. Yeah, we were a bunch of yahoo's. I went out l...
All good up here buddy. Busy as all get out. Got 2 fences to put up still. Did get out and get a few fiddleheads. Working on the trailer/camp project. Matter of fact, I just got in from wire wheeling the frame. Fun! Hope all is well down south buddy. Stay outta trouble! Wife and I were down to Booth...
Yes OS!
I have seen a 99 like that in a picture! It looked great. It reminded me that I saw one of those 94s that had it done also. They also put on some Ramline synthetic furniture and used it as an all weather rifle. It looked pretty slick.
I've never used 2400 in 30-30. Probably work pretty good for a cast load. For the last several years, I've been using W748 for full power loads with excellent results. I've used a lot of IMR3031 in it too. Even with gas checked cast bullets. Unique for lighter cast and cat sneeze loads. Strangely, f...
It's generally not too bad. We definitely get some humid days, but I doubt it's anything like PA. Towards the coast will be cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Higher elevations and way up north are cooler in summer also. It was cloudy yesterday until early afternoon. Before the sun came ...
Sounds like good news to me, Nath.
I'd bring it home. Especially if your options are limited. I just can't imagine life without a 30-30. Fantastic cartridge.
