Yup. If you're in open country or hardwoods, it aids in visibility. But when in the thick, you actually lose it. And you can't move without being visible due to snow falling off the trees. I hate it. It inevitably makes it miserable and harder to hunt.

I don't hunt in the rain either haha! It usually comes off the trees and brush. Especially snow. That's why I hate snow during hunting season.

I've just never found anything better. Cabelas had what seemed like an acre of hunting clothes. All seemed either noisy, not warm enough, or both.

Cold and snow is the way to go.

You'll learn that the worst thing is a warm winter. Snow then rain turns to ice you can't get cleaned off roofs or driveways. Wet, heavy snow is hard to move and packs like cement.

Yup. Need a close picture of the bottom of the frame between the forend and the lower link.
The early guns were stamped with a slightly different font and are usually stamped lighter than later guns. That being said, it is usually evident if it has been removed.
