Never owned or handled a "fighting knife", like a military issued design , but have a sudden interest in them and have been looking over the auctions. I favor actual military issue knives, just because I enjoy the history. That said, they are, IMHO, some of the finest fighting knives ever...

I think it's an RIA. It is made for Cimarron by Rock Island Armory.. I have one, and it is an excellent 1911 in both appearance and in function. I have put close to 2000 rounds through mine without a single malfunction. The frame is a 1911, but for some odd reason, the roll stamp says 1911, A1. :lol:

The nylon stocked Remingtons were the first rifle I ever saw that did not have wood stocks. I always thought they looked pretty cheap! We called them "Matty Mattel" rifles. Now they are collectables - go figure.

I have never been impressed with the quality of Marlin rifles. Always fairly good value for the money, but never finely finished. IMHO. IF Remington could get their act together, they might actually be able to improve the product - but that seems like a big IF!
