Re: Anyone else like red dots on long guns..?
After using only irons on my AR15 Carbine for 2 decades, earlier this year I got a wild hair and added a small, cheap reflex sight to my rail. As my rear iron sight is a fold down it was simple to add in front and just leave the rear sight folded down. I'm an irons type most of the time and like Six...

On the subject of plinking bullets, I've had good luck with X-Treme 150 grn FN .308 they make for the 30-30 along with some W760 powder in reduced loads for about 2,000 fps. Cheap, decently accurate and with the reduced load, even the ladies like to shoot them in my walnut stocked Mossberg 464.

I've got to agree with Griff on this. I bought both a .357 carbine and rifle in 2009, used Steve's parts and followed his video and both mine came out reliable and slick as snot. So good that my neighbor liked them so much he bought a .357 rifle on the condition that he'd buy the parts and I'd do wh...

The Left Co-Opts Words To Hide Their Real Intent
The left has co-opted many words and turned them into another meaning to hide or obfuscate their real intentions. One such example is the phrase ‘Democratic Socialism’ that's in practice closer to the 'National Socialism' (read the Nazis) of 1939. So, it’s interesting to note that in the classic sen...

I shoot a lot of .357 Mag or .45 Colt out of leverguns at longer ranges for fun and I've found that BC of the XTP 180grn at .230 and the 158grn at .206 is higher than the BC for their 140grn FTX at .160 so I just developed loads for those and shoot them at 200 yds with good accuracy. Personally I don't think the velocity gained by a longer barrel is as beneficial as the sighting radius gained by the extra length! Having an extra 4"-8" of extra barrel length with iron sights is a huge factor in more accurate shooting. That's why a tang sight on a rifle is so beneficial...
