Re: Modern Military use of a Trebuchet...!!!
Best use of that here in Canada would be to throw Trudeau into an enemy country as he would surely screw that country up in short order as bad as he has screwed up Canada lol One thing to remember, most of your country voted for Trudeau. The same cannot be said here. Some would say not even a major...

Re: Anyone Know Anything About Heritage Manufacturing's Model 92 Leverguns?
I stopped my a Murdochs Ranch and Home Supply yesterday doing errands and they had a .22lr Mare's Leg by Heritage. To be honest, it looked a bit cheap to me but it had a smooth action. They didn't have a center fire Heritage but said the finish on the one they had before was similar to the Mare's Le...

So, I guess that means that Heritage is just another importer of Rossis as Taurus didn't make them either, they just imported them.

The Homesteader in 40 s&w would be a big improvement. I have an original Ruger Police Carbine from 1998. It's the 1st one that looks like a 10/22 with a black stock. It's a decent HD weapon because I got it in 40 s&w and my 165 grn handloads produce 1,380 fps and 698 ft/lbs ME using Power Pi...

Anyone Know Anything About Heritage Manufacturing's Model 92 Leverguns?
With the bolt top safety and their address at 100 Taurus Way in GA, it seems as if they might be the old Taurus company. Further, despite their claim that they manufacture the firearms, they might just import them from Rossi. What do we know about them? Anyone? https://heritagemfg.com/lever-action/l...

I won a Springfield Scout M1A in a pro-gun raffle years ago, and I really don't see the need for a different 308. Others are nice, but the M1A does feel more like a 'real gun' than some of the others do to me. I couldn't agree more. My basic training rifle was an M14 and I also used it in Germany f...

Re: How About 1 Caliber and Done?
If it’s not going to be compact, then, why not get an AR or similar style firearm at fires on the actual rifle cartridge? The only other reason would be to have cartridge compatibility with a long gun and handgun, but if you have a long gun AND a handgun, then what’s the point in a pistol caliber c...

Re: Taylors and Co. New '73
Quite true, but my point is the 9 is good enough for many uses. I agree that for many of you who own 9mm handguns, the attractiveness of a carbine in that caliber would be compelling. My comments weren't disparaging the caliber but rather a statement of preference. For me, as I don't own a 9mm anyt...

Why on earth would you want to even consider only a single caliber? That's like deciding that you'll only eat one single type of food. Life is about enjoying the diversity of everything. So, no thank you, I'll stick to my 7 pistol and 9 rifle calibers I handload to use in my dozens of arms and enjoy...

Re: Taylors and Co. New '73
Per BBTI, a 125grn Cor Bon 9mm in a 16" levergun gives up about 700 fps to a 125grn Cor Bon .357mag. I compare it to a 6" revolver, the latter having been used on deer. For 125 gn Cor Bons, they show about 125 fps difference. There is a hunting load for the 9 that gets about 1300 fps with...

That's way, way too much velocity loss to make the 9mm worth considering in my book.

I've got a 1949 Savage 99 in 300 Savage that's a great shooter. I got it to round out my collection of leverguns and don't shoot it much as I prefer my Winchester 88 in .308 better. But both are fine examples of the state of the art.

In 255grn bullets, I prefer the X-treme 255grn FP plated as it feeds in both my SAA and both my leverguns smooth as silk and doesn't lead up the barrels whereas the 255grn Keith style lead isn't as smooth feeding in my leverguns and being plain lead, I have to deal with lead deposits. In .357mag leverguns, my "high power" load is a Zero 158grn JSP bullet over 18.0 grns (Max) of Lil'Gun powder. It produces higher velocities at much lower peak pressures than H110 which was my previous load. The velocities were recorded at the same range, with the same temps, same rifles, ...
