I've got it torn down right now, the wrist and grip were so danged thick for such a little rifle Dad figured it would be hard to use with gloves on so I thinned and reshaped it to match his ol springfield sporter, maybe next week I'll e-mail some pics to Pitchy and see if we can get him to post them...

This is a simple type saftey that keeps the sear from rising when the trigger is pulled and mounts with one pivot screw on the upper tang, I wish I could post pics. The saftey is numbered with the last three didgets of the serial number.

Don't know nuthin about 401K's but winchester marketed a nice little 401win. many years ago, as for the IRA you don't hear too much about them anymore, pretty peacefull in Ireland now. Hope this helps

I used flintlock rifles and percusion revolvers for a few years for most of my shooting and hunting and have been pleased. I put together a 12 gauge CVA double kit this winter and hope I have as good of luck as you, I'm thinking it's going to be my woodcock gun since limits are small anyhow.

I leave the powder measure set on 8grs. of unique, I use it for light 44, 41, and 45 colt loads, seems to kill chipmunks pretty darned quick. I've tried 8.5 and 9grs. unique but my 4.62" Vaqureo likes the 8.

I don't see anything wrong with a compact 9mm like the Glock, 9mm fmj can still be bought fairly cheap so there more economical to plink with. A mag full of good hollowpoints and a extra loaded with fmj's for grouse and bunnies and such.

A lot of those plastic guns have very large grips, I didn't say all. I think part of the switch might be tradition, but they still wouldn't pick something that didn't keep them alive. The 1911's still rule,I have spoken.

One thing I've always loved about the 1911 is it has a very comfortable grip, it even fits smaller hands, alot of those high cap plastic guns have grips like 2X4's. The only way a military weapon can be truly effective it must fit everyone. Besides people who don't like the old 1911 just haven't car...

I used a tanker holster a bit years ago and am thinking of making one for my Vaqureo, In the danged cold weather up north here I think A holster like that keeps the gun protected from snow and rain, much easier to get at when wearing bulky clothing and more comfortable than any regular shoulder type...

I forgot about the Double H boots, bought a pair of packers made by them and wore them everday doing constuction and for some hunting and they lasted years, I wouldn't hesitate buying another pair by them.

The Tony Lama bullhide boots seem pretty darned tough, but I bought them with leather soles, I won't do that again, go with a rubber type sole.

I'd bet if I carried a extra loaded cylinder I'd manage to dump the loaded rounds out of it in my pocket or on the ground, I don't like the idea of removing the cyl. anyhow gun being apart and all. better to practice shooting and reloading as you go. Just a thought.

I know leverguns and single actions seem to go hand in hand but every once in awhile I like to carry my Smith m29 blued mountain gun, the little 44 is probably the most accurate sixgun I own and plenty easy to pack. Anyone else have a thing for big bore D/As.

Order a extra and carry a pair. On those rare days were I thought a fast reload might be nice I've carried my little Beretta jetfire as back-up. It might not be much but the little 25 shoots pretty good and might keep there heads down while your reloading. I've seen some guys with .45acp S/As carry ...
