Gold Dots in lever action?
I have a large # of 38 Spl 135gr Short Barrel Gold Dots I’d like to use in a trapper length 357 lever gun. Is this a safe cartridge in the tube feed (it looks safe to the naked eye, but that’s a guess, not fact).

I just bought a in/lb Weaver torque wrench and am going through my gun cabinet and resetting critical tolerances of my rifles, primarily stock screws and optic bases and rings. I got to the 1894 lever gun, reset the optics screws and am scratching my head over what else to check. Q: Are there any ac...

The 38 special 135gr Gold Dot short barrel is available. It seems to meet most/all? of your criteria if it will feed in your gun. Search ammoseek.dot on 38 special/135 grs and it shows only one dealer with it in stock (https://www.308ammo.com/SPEER-38-SPECIAL-P-135gr-GOLD-DOT-HP-50rd-BOX-p/53921.htm...

Re: 38 special and 44 special RNFP Home defense ammo out of carbines
XTP bullets feed very reliably in my Marlin 1894, like my practice RNFP’s, and are designed to expand at very low velocities, as low as 700 fps in the 38’s and 750 fps in the 44’s.

Getting older requires adjustments: put an RMR on my Marlin 1894 44mag cuz the regular sights don't work so well any more, and loading my 240gr plinking rounds with Titegroup at reduced velocities to keep recoil from banging me too hard. Adapt and overcome!
