I have a Huglu double in 20. I got it before CZ became the importer but it is what is now the Ringneck. Absolutely beautiful gun and nice to carry. I had a hard time opening it once after firing at a dove but otherwise it has been fine. I don’t hit well with it though. I haven’t shot it enough to fi...

I hope they go back to what made them famous, Contenders and muzzleloaders. Encore or TCR and maybe a good quality bolt gun that stands out would be good. Not four different lines of box store discount bolt actions that no one can keep straight.

I handled one at my lgs. Seems like a well made little rifle. My favorite semi pcc is the Ruger LC in 45 acp though. If I wanted a 9x19 I’d probably get the Smith that folds on half. If I’m going to shoot short auto cartridges I prefer they load in the grip to reduce receiver length

One caliber for rifles and handguns, I’m thinking 35 although it’s not my favorite for either. I suppose my 44s would work but I like having a flatter shooting rifle. Give one caliber for each, 30 for rifles, 45 for handguns. Still need a shotgun or three

Eye relief is usually reduced as magnification increases. You could try loosening the rings and pulling the scope back until you get a full field at 8x. Hopefully your field of view will still be fine at lower magnification. That’s a lot of zoom at arms length

Recoil? It is pretty much a higher pressure slightly smaller 7mm-08. In a AR-10 type rifle, it shouldn’t be bad for anyone. As a ballistics/cartridge nerd I find it interesting and better than anything 5.56mm. Honestly I can’t see it being than much better than 7.62x51. Yes smaller, more aerodynamic...

Seems John Marlin's designs are the ones to clone these days...Henry, S&W, Aero, Rossi's long action, and of course Ruger.
I'm okay with the rifle but don't want one. I think it would make more sense in revolver calibers for it's purpose.

My first experience firing 45 acp was in a Blackhawk. May have been my first firing of a single action, but definitely first for a centerfire single action.
I have some weird shooting firsts. My first 38, 357, and 45 Colts were in rifles. First 22 in a revolver. First 30-30 in a single shot

Is this 500 too long for a 1886? Or would a 1895 be more appropriate? It is almost three inches long, so about the length of the old Mauser battle cartridges. I would shoot it in say a Ruger No. 1, but in a handgun I think I would pass. The .500 is too short for an 1886. I run both a 50 Alaskan and...

348 and 356 are probably the closest in SAAMI cartridges for a tube fed gun. A 33 on a 444 Marlin case should get you there too, may have to shorten cases a tad.

The gummy tips do have a substantially higher BC in smaller rifle calibers with the higher SD like 25 to 35 caliber. The handgun version or even the big rifle versions in 44 and 458 just do not bear this out. Plus, weights are limited because of length limitations, which introduces the need for diff...

I have been seeing 1892 Browning pattern guns with aluminum receivers out of Turkey on YouTube. Given how the 92 locks via two steel lugs on either side the bolt rear and against the rear of the receiver, do you guys think the aluminum will hold up or give headspace issues eventually?

My full size CDP (Aluminum frame) has never had a malfunction. Both hands, either hand, dirty Russian steel cases, soft swaged lead bullets, JHPs, fmj, does not matter. They get a lot of flack as a brand, but my 1911 is a great pistol.
